I suspect that a decent percentage of folks reading this will be attending SNW in Orlando next week. But those folks may not be tracking lovable Wilma, the record setting category 5 hurricane that’s bearing down on the state this weekend. On the current path I wouldn’t expect much of a problem for SNW, but if does veer towards the north then we’re going to have quite a problem. Orlando is typically far enough inland to not experience much wind, but as we saw with Charlie and his friends last year it can still be a real problem.

Also, if you haven’t got a hotel yet, don’t bother. I suspect that most of Southwest Florida will be moving to Orlando this weekend for an extended stay.

Have safe travels and check the NHC website over the weekend.
