The hurricane posed some challenges and we might have had a real life disaster recovery scenario.
The striking thing about the show from a storage management perspective is that most of the equipment being used wasn’t even at the show. Remote management is the norm - the equipment was in Colorado Springs at the SNIA Tech Center. Management from anywhere you have a network is real today.
Walking the show floor you see that iSCSI storage is maturing and the number of vendors with shipping product continues to grow. The demonstations of storage management, both VDS and SMI-S came off well and pleased attendees. The industry has made significant progress on achieving its promise of standards based storage managment.
